Taking the Leap of Faith

After years of standing at the bottom of the diving board, it is time to climb up the ladder, walk to the end, and take the jump into that cold water! Floaties or not, here I come! Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of writing a blog. CAUTION: you may need to request a floatation device if you are raising a middle school aged kid!

After learning about child development, and how our children are supposed to find their “identity” during this period called adolescence, I have spent countless hours listening to struggling students and parents.

From parent I would hear comments like, “I feel alone in this struggle and am afraid to talk about what’s really going on at home,” and “I knew it was going to be hard, but, REALLY, this hard!?”

And, on the flip side, the students would come in to my office and say “it’s like my parents are hovering over me, afraid for me to become my own person. Can’t they understand that I’m ready for more responsibility?

The Middle School Mindset is designed to provide skills, tools, and resources to help navigate the deep, wide waters of Middle School. By opening up the conversation, normalizing the struggle and creating a genuine, positive community for you and you kid/s, we will learn and grow together.

I look forward to going on this journey with you!
